Arriving and leaving
Check-in
From 14:00 to 19:00. We do not run a permanent front desk, so please arrange your arrival time with us at least 24 hours before you travel — particularly if you are landing late.
Check-out
By 10:00. If you need to leave before breakfast, ask us for a breakfast pack the night before.
Getting here
We are about 10 minutes from O.R. Tambo International Airport. Airport transfers can be arranged for R150 a trip — tell us your flight number and we will meet you.
Room cleaning
Please have your room free for cleaning by 10:00 during your stay.

What we ask of you
Registered guests only
The facilities are for guests who have booked. Visitors from outside can be arranged in advance with management, but are not permitted in the rooms.
Non-smoking rooms
All rooms are strictly non-smoking, and there are designated areas outside. A R500 cleaning fee applies to any room that has been smoked in — it takes that much to get a room properly fresh again.
Noise
Please be considerate of other guests when you are socialising, coming back late, or making an early start.
Use of the property
Guests and their visitors use the premises at their own risk. The owners and their staff are not liable for loss of or damage to property, or for injury, whether caused by negligence or not.

Questions guests ask
How far is Elsjes Guesthouse from O.R. Tambo International Airport?
We are 8.8 km from O.R. Tambo International Airport, which is about ten minutes by car. We can collect you from the airport if you send us your flight details — ask us for a transfer quote.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is between 14:00 and 19:00, and check-out is by 10:00. We do not have a permanent front desk, so please arrange your arrival time with us at least 24 hours before you travel.
How do I find out room rates?
Rates vary by room type, season and how many of you are staying, so we do not publish a fixed price list. Check live rates and availability on our booking page, or contact us directly and we will talk you through the options. Wi-Fi, parking and the swimming pool are free either way.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is charged separately, cooked fresh in our own kitchen. If you are leaving before breakfast is served, ask us the night before for a breakfast pack to take with you.
Do you have parking and Wi-Fi?
Yes — both are free. Parking is on the property itself, and Wi-Fi covers the rooms and public areas.
How many rooms does Elsjes Guesthouse have?
Seventeen rooms, all en-suite, including a Honeymoon Suite with a corner spa bath and fireplace. We also have Bouleigh, a separate two-bedroom self-catering apartment nearby, which sleeps up to six.
Can I smoke in my room?
No — all rooms are strictly non-smoking, and there are designated smoking areas outside. A R500 cleaning fee applies to any room that has been smoked in.
